To see what is in front of one’s nose – Simple solutions to frustrating problems

To see what is in front of one’s nose – Simple solutions to frustrating problems

This week we’re moving to a new flat – so just a short blog post, but an important one nonetheless!

I came across an article today on Google+ (Yes, Google+. Just going to let the awkward silence pass…and it’s gone), that is only a little longer than this blog post, but it makes a profound point – sometimes it is better – and cheaper – to get a professional opinion than to try and find a solution to a yourself; whether it’s a tech problem, or in our case, a solution to a communications problem in your church.

Note: if you’re struggling to see the relevance of the image for this post, you can understand why I struggled to find an image I’ve taken that represents many failed solutions to a simple church tech problem. Better suggestions on a postcard/in the comments!

Here we go: read ‘Tech Gear: Are You Purchasing Problems or Solutions?’ here.

Simple problem, simple solution – but one that wouldn’t have come about with out the knowledge and experience that comes from doing this stuff day in, day out.

The great thing is that in the Church (both your church and the global Church – hint good forums (and perhaps even Google+!) will help here), there is often someone willing to help – someone who knows social media, graphic design, video, web design or marketing. Just make sure they know their stuff! Even better is that more often than not it won’t be something they’re looking to charge for!

So ask around, and if there are any church communications issues you’re getting stuck on right now, don’t hesitate to leave a comment below or get in touch via my contact form!
