Time to Launch – New church communications site

It is with utmost pleasure that I can unveil to you something that I have been working on for a little while – welcome to www.joegallant.co.uk!

The aim of the site is simple, to provide resources to churches, both small and large, to help them with communicating.

Communication in church can cover so many different things, whether we’re talking about internal communication, to members, attendees or staff, or external, contacting those who aren’t attached to the church – who may not have even heard of it.

The mission of the site will hopefully become clear over the next couple of weeks. This blog will be updated on a frequent basis with insights in to church communications. These will range from the theoretical and theological aspects of marketing – why churches should be communicating and to whom – to the nitty-gritty details of how to communicate well – what tools to use, what processes to put in place.

Be aware that tools and processes are two words that I will inevitably overuse – I like detail and I like things working well and efficiently (efficient – another culprit). Feel free to *buzz* in the comments if I use the words more than three times in a single post – probably a bit much.

For now, that’s enough from me. There’ll be more soon but in the meantime feel free to have a browse of the site, and take a look at my portfolio. Any feedback will be welcomed!

I hope that this site helps you, whether you’re volunteering/working doing communications for a church, part of a team or a lone-ranger, or just an interested onlooker. I’m not claiming expert-know-it-all status here, but aim to share some of the insights I’ve gained from my own work, as well as other things to make the process more efficient (*buzz*) and enjoyable. I wish you all the best in reaching your communication goals, and, above all, the witness of your church to a watching world.

Joe
